Depending on your insurance plan you may be able to use “out of network” benefits to be reimbursed for part of your mental health treatment. I can give you a receipt (or “superbill”) to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Call the customer service number on the back of your card to find out if you have out-of-network mental health outpatient benefits and what exactly they reimburse.
For more information about “out of network” benefits, check out this article. I have also created this list of questions to ask your insurance provider.
Ask these questions when speaking to your insurance company about benefits:
-What is my out of network coverage?
-How much of my deductible has been met this year?
-What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health? (Outpatient means treatment outside a hospital.)
-What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health?
-Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
-How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement? (Claims are forms like this that are sent to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for sessions you paid for out of pocket.)
Why would you want to pay out of pocket for mental health services? There are many reasons why not using your insurance benefits and choosing to self-pay is a good idea. Here is an article with 5 great reasons: Paying for Therapy Out of Your Pocket
I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. You can pay per- session or I offer a 10% discount when you purchase a package of 8 sessions, paid for upfront.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 48 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
