You can heal through the power of movement too!
Why I became a Dance/Movement Therapist.
”I first discovered the power of dance and movement as a healing modality when I was about 12 years old. I became part of my middle school dance team and as a pre-teen dealing with the struggles of puberty and undiagnosed depression, I fell in love with the ability to regulate my emotions within the somatic realm.
Outside of school, my family and Cuban culture nurtured this affinity towards dance and instilled in me a deep-seated passion for movement. I followed this passion into high school and later pursued two bachelor’s degrees in dance and psychology. By then I had no doubt that I was to follow the legacy of Dance/Movement Therapy.”
